Samuel Smith “Organic Apricot”

This fruit beer is brewed with apricots and features all organic ingredients. Aromas are exactly like dried apricots with nothing else to distract. The palate begins with sharp carbonation, soda, and ripe apricots. The finish is there before you know it, bringing in a final splash of sweetness. Final notes of dried apricots linger on with my delight. A little malted grains keep it true to the beer origins, but provide little flavor beyond their necessary support. It comes across nice and crisp with active carbonation and a wet feel. The light body never grows thin or tasteless, and it drinks like a soda. They say there’s alcohol in here?

I had this at a local beer festival and fell in love with the flavor because I really love that apricot flavor. This is a great summer beer choice that would likely be appreciated by the novice beer drinker, as well as the seasoned drinker alike. I know of no other apricot beer option, so if you like the fruit, you’ve got to try this. At the least, consider shaking things up from your normal beer choices. They’ve really captured the essence of apricot and placed it in a bottle, and I think its certainly one of the better fruit centered beers I’ve had. It’s tasty, I recommend it.
